Pin-Sights, Colour Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches

It's the long weekend here and I've had some time to spend in my craft area,
which has been really nice!

I've decided that one way I can make the most of my time would be to
make a few cards using the same stamp set, while I have it out.

So, I decided to use my Ellen Hutson Mondo Hydrangea stamp set
to make two cards.

The first one is for the February Pin-Sights Challenge:

Here's my card:

I stamped the image in Altenew Turquoise ink and then a second time, using
my MISTI in versamark, so I could heat emboss it in clear.
I coloured it in using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours.

I adhered it over two strips of cardstock using dimensional adhesive and
stamped my sentiment (from PTI's Songbirds) in Altenew Evening Grey.

And I made my second card using Colour Throwdown #480:

Here's my card:

With some masking, I stamped the leaves in Papertrey Ink New Leaf ink and
then a second time, using my MISTI in versamark, so I could heat emboss it in clear.
I repeated these steps with the flowers, using Altenew Deep Iris.
I coloured everything in using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours.

I stamped my Concord & 9th Barnboard Background on a strip of watercolour paper
in Altenew Evening Grey and stamped my sentiment (from PTI's KIS: Sympathy)
on a strip of grey cardstock and heat embossed it in white.

MFT 2018 Creative Olympics

I had some time to craft this afternoon and was looking
for some challenges by which to be inspired.
I found the MFT Creative Olympics and decided to play
along with two of their challenges.

I made this first card for the first event: Stamping Slalom,
where we needed to use three different stamp sets on one card.

I also used the current MFT Wednesday Sketch 372:

and the current MFT Colour Challenge 87:

Here's my card:

I used MFT's Beautiful Butterflies, the accompanying sentiment set
and the leaves from the Grateful set.

I also played along with the fourth event: Speed Cardmaking:

I used the same sets and made this card in 13:29 seconds.

Inspired By All the Little Things #80

Today, I have a card to share for
Inspired By All the Little Things #80:

I was inspired by the woodgrain background, the colours and the pretty peonies.
I decided to use my Wplus9 Modern Peonies stamp set to make my card,

Here's my card:

I stamped my flowers onto their coordinating diecuts in versamark and
heat embossed them in gold.
I coloured them in using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours and layered them over a piece
of woodgrain patterned paper that I had in my stash.

I stamped my sentiment (also from Modern Peonies) on a strip of PTI aqua mist cardstock
in versamark and heat embossed it in gold.

CAS(E) This Sketch #259

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #259 designed by Donna Mikasa:

I was also inspired by this photo to make my card:

Here's my card:

I blended Altenew Mountain Mist, Buttercream and Cotton Candy ink onto two panels
and then stamped over them with two different sized circles with white ink.
(It's hard to see in the photo, but it shimmers a little in the light.)

I stamped the ferris wheel from PTI's County Fair in the same colours,
as well as Evening Grey.
I edict the "wishing" using SSS's wishing die and stamped the sentiment
from the coordinating stamp set.

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Challenges

With life feeling quite full right now
(working full time, volunteering to create the program and certificates
for the Morden Festival of the Arts and having Austin come home
from Bible College last weekend for a few days),
I haven't gotten to spend very much time at my craft table lately.

However, I really wanted to play along with the 11th Anniversary Challenges at Papertrey Ink
this month, so I decided to make one card for four challenges.
Yes, four.

They are:
1. The 11th Anniversary Sketch Challenge, where I used this sketch by Lizzie Jones:

4. 11th Anniversary Day 8: Colour Challenge, where I used this colour combo by Keeway Tsao:

Here's my card:

(I apologize for the poor lighting!
I leave for work before the sun is up and by the time I get home, it's pretty much set.
I cannot wait for spring!)

I used my Bloomers stamp set to make my card.
I embossed my background panel with my PTI Book Print impression plate.
I blended some Altenew Soft Lilac ink onto it with my blending tool.
I stamped my flowers onto their coordinating diecuts using Altenew Frosty Pink,
Coral Berries, Ruby Red, Mountain Mist and Volcano Lake.
I also used my Delicata Golden Glizt ink pad and Altenew Jet Black.
I stamped the leaves (from PTI Lovely Layers) in PTI's Limeade Ice and Simply Chartreuse.

I stamped the sentiment (from Fresh Floral Wrap-ups) on a strip of vellum
in versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed it in clear.
