Exciting news!

I'm so excited to share the news.....

I was thrilled to get a an email from Chrissy Larson inviting me to join their design team! I've always loved using sketches for scrapbooking and card making, so I'm really looking forward to designing for CAS(E) this Sketch. Click here to see the other designers who've been added to the team.

Even though I don't officially start until next Thursday, Sept. 5th, I decided to make a card with this week's sketch-- Sketch #43 to share with you....

Here's my card:

I was inspired by the Wplus9 Monday Mood Board #19 to make my card.

I used Papertrey Ink card stock and ink, as well as two PTI stamps-- the flourish under my sentiment is from Modern Wood Mats and the red chevron stripe is from Live Love Life. I also used my new Notched Banner die to diecut my banners. The jar stamp and die is from Lawn Fawn and the floral stamps & dies and sentiment stamp are from Wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals.

I'm also linking up this card to Fusion #16:

WMS August Pyjama Party

I'm playing along again with the WMS Pyjama Party today and have two cards to share.

My first card is for Challenge #3, which is a colour inspiration challenge to use these colours on your project:

I decided to use my new 2 Step Sprig stamp set for this challenge.

I stamped the flowers and leaves onto some PTI rustic white card stock and added a sentiment from WMS's Compact Sentiments stamp set. I added a little twine and layered it over a piece of MME patterned paper.

My second card is also for Challenge #3 (but I substituted aqua mist for the royal blue colour-- I hope that's okay!) It's also for Challenge #4, which was to use your oldest stamps. My oldest stamps are Fillable Frames #9 from Papertrey Ink, which I used on the card, along with its matching die. My oldest WMS stamp set is Woodgrain, which I also used-- I heat embossed it in white on the aqua mist cardstock background.

I also included a stamp from Compact Sentiments and a stamped feather from Fine Feathers.

(I'm also linking up these cards to this week's Simons Says Challenge: Anything Goes.)

Inside Scoop: Birthday

Welcome to Day 3 of the peeks for the August release for Fresh Squeezed Stamps!

Today, I'm featuring a great set for stamping on the inside of your cards: Inside Scoop: Birthday.

For my card, though, I decided to stamp one of the sentiments on the front of my card:

Using some patterned paper from a coordinating 6x6 paper pad, I cut 3x6" pieces & rolled them up with a piece of baker's twine in each one. Don't they make pretty candles? They go perfectly with the sentiment that I used from Inside Scoop: Birthday.

So head on over to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog for more inspiration from the other DT members using Inside Scoop: Birthday. There you can see the full stamp set AND leave a comment to be entered into the draw to win it!

Subway Series: Occasions

Welcome to Day 2 of the peeks for the August release for Fresh Squeezed Stamps!

I'm quite excited about the set that's being featured today... Most of you probably know that I love my Subway Series: Summer stamp set. So I was pretty happy to see that FSS is adding to their Subway Series stamps with Subway Series: Occasions.

There is a baby themed stamp and a wedding themed stamp in this set, but I decided to make a card using the girlfriend themed stamp.

I used some patterned paper from a 6x6 paper pad for my background and stitched it in place. I diecut a banner and stamped my sentiment in black-- I thought it looked very striking. A button and a little bit of twine finishes it off.

Head on over to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog for more inspiration from the other DT members using Subway Series: Occasions. There you can see the full stamp set AND leave a comment to be entered into the draw to win it!

Life of the Party

Welcome to Day 1 of the peeks for the August release for Fresh Squeezed Stamps!

There are some fun new sets being released this week and today, I'm excited to share a card that I made using a birthday party set called Life of the Party.

Here it is...

I decided to make a shaker card to complement this fun set. I stamped the balloons and balloon animal on the background card stock. Then I diecut a frame from some patterned patterned paper. I adhered some clear cardstock to back of it, as well as some foam adhesive all the way around the window opening. I poured some glitter on top of the stamped images and adhered my frame over top.

I diecut the banner and added the birthday sentiment Life of the Party. The "happy" is a stamp from another set being released this month..... more on that one on Thursday!

So, you'll want to head to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog for more inspiration from the other DT members using Life of the Party. There you will see the full stamp set AND have a chance to enter for your chance at the giveaway of this set!

The last of our SAF projects

I just wanted to share the four cards that Sage & I made yesterday for the PTI Stamp-A-Faire Challenges.

Every card that we made was for the Breakfast Bake & Take, where we were challenged to choose one sketch and one colour combo.

First up is Sage's card, which she made with this colour combo...

And this sketch....

(We realized later that she and I had combined the same colour combo and sketch. My card is here-- it's the second card in the post. Great minds think alike! LOL!)

Sage had me cut some cardstock strips for her, which she adhered to her card. She diecut the mat stack #4 die from rustic white cardstock and stamped her coffee cup (she said it's hot chocolate, though) and stamped her sentiment, but messed it up. I suggested cutting another mat stack but in chocolate brown and heat embossing the sentiment. She was agreeable to this, but wanted me to do it-- she was getting tired. I also mixed clear embossing powder with cocoa to make this a scratch and sniff card for the  Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge. To heat emboss the sentiment, I mixed some of this mixture with some white embossing powder, so it wouldn't be so white.

We're linking her card up to the Simon Says Stamp Kids' Summer Vacation Challenge, too.

And now for my projects....

All three of my cards were made for the Gallon/Quart/Pint Challenge.  I also challenged myself to use each sketch for the the Breakfast Bake & Take, and I had three left. The first card I made used this sketch...

And I decided to pair it with this colour combo (but I substituted the royal velvet for smokey shadow, because I don't have any royal velvet)...

I chose some Crate Paper patterned paper and used it to make the panels. I diecut my Wonderful Words happy die once from patterned paper and twice more from card stock and layered them together to give my diecut word dimension and more stability. I also covered my word with glitter for the Sugar Coated Embellishments Challenge. I diecut some vellum using my double-ended banner die. On it, I stamped a Think Big Favourites #12 sentiment and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

My next card uses this colour combo...

And this sketch...

Once again, I used some Crate Paper patterned paper. I decided to make another scratch and sniff card for the Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge. I heat embossed the kiss with silver embossing powder and then stamped the heart in winter wisteria. I heat embossed the heart with the cocoa/clear embossing powder mixture which darkened the heart, but it still looks purple. The banner was cut using the Get a Handle On It die.

And my last card is another scratch and sniff card for the Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards Challenge, which uses more Crate Paper, this colour combo....

And this sketch, which I rotated 90˚ to the right...

I ran my smokey shadow cardstock through my Big Shot with my woodgrain IP. I diecut my tag using my Tag Sale #7 die and added a tiny tag to the top with some rustic white baker's twine (on which I'd stamped the scratch and sniff sentiment in hibiscus burst. I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice so I mixed some nutmeg and clear embossing powder together to cover my pumpkin.

And that's it. I'll leave you with our closing ceremony photo: Sage posed with all of our SAF creations....

Note the messy tables, the bowls of dye, the cocoa powder and Sage's lovely smile-- all evidence of a fabulous SAF weekend! Thanks to Nichole & the DT for spoiling us so!
